We are seeking experienced Duty Managers for a full time and part time role, leading the delivery of cleaning services contract based in Canberra Hospital, working across afternoon and nightshifts, including weekends. This role will entail leading the front line team in the daily pursuit of service standards as set in our contract. You will be primarily responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day cleaning operations ensuring a high standard of service delivery is met.
Key responsibilities include managing the daily operational requirements including ensuring strict hygiene and infection control, auditing and scheduling of cleaning requirements whilst recognizing Work Health and Safety standards.
Reporting directly to the Key Account Manager you will be a key member of the leadership team and will have a full autonomy to lead the performance of your rostered shift including the effective use of staffing in line with activity needs.
The role:
- Lead overall day to day performance of the delivery of cleaning and distribution operations in line with the contract ensuring patient care and client satisfaction
- Management and adherence to staffing levels based on activity and budget
- Oversee daily reporting on performance directly to the Key Account Manager and or the client as delegated
- Oversee and deliver efficient and cost-effective management services within contract scope
- Deliver superior customer service and develop key tenant stakeholder engagement by providing effective and timely communications to our client and to ISS
- Work flexibly and manage situations efficiently and effectively in line with the Hospital’s vision
- Role model high standards of leadership, cleaning practices, problem solving techniques and customer and patient interaction
- Actively contribute to and promote a culture of “teamwork” within the hospital and other departments
- Maintain Site folder, or other communication tools
What will you possess to be successful:
- Strong operational management experience ideally within a Healthcare, or similar service industry
- Experience in direct reporting to the Contract Manager or on request Client representatives
- Experience in managing a large contingent of frontline employees
- Experience in direct responsibility for maintaining staffing levels/budget
- Thorough understanding and commitment to cleaning and infection control requirements in a hospital environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrates empathy and respect for team members
- Demonstrates strong customer focus and results orientation
- Computer literacy – basic level competency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with our task management system Concept Evolution
- Demonstrates pride, purpose and a sense of urgency
Essential Criteria:
- Willingness to gain or provide evidence of immunisation for Covid-19, Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Pertussis, and Diphtheria as per Canberra Health policy
- Current Police Clearance no older than 12 months, or the ability to obtain (Essential)
- Current DHS Working with Vulnerable People card (WWVP), or the ability to obtain (Essential)
