We’re looking for a driven and experienced HSE Advisor to support and enhance the ISS safety culture across our Brisbane Airport contract. This will be site based, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and proactive, able to identify where they can add value without being prompted. You’ll be passionate about safety while remaining pragmatic and commercially aware, and you’ll engage constructively with operational teams - turning issues into opportunities for improvement as you help develop, implement, and embed safety initiatives and training in a dynamic aviation environment.
What you’ll do:
- Coach and support frontline leaders and team members to reduce physical and psychosocial risks, building their capability to work safely.
- Provide practical, expert health and safety guidance to management, ensuring strong and consistent safety standards are embedded across operations.
- Champion safety by actively participating in H&S meetings, pre-starts, and other forums where safety matters are discussed.
- Lead and contribute to internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Analyse safety data and provide insights through performance reports to drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver safety training and communication materials aligned with organisational objectives.
- Mentor and support elected health and safety representatives to strengthen workforce safety engagement.
- Collaborate with government, industry, and community stakeholders on health and safety matters as required.
- Anticipate emerging risks and proactively update safety practices to address them.
- Work closely with occupational health professionals, contribute to health surveillance programs, and promote wellbeing initiatives across the workforce.

What You’ll Bring:
- A minimum TAFE Diploma in WHS (tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field are highly desirable).
- Solid knowledge of relevant State WHS and environmental legislation, as well as ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- A proven ability to manage change, influencing managers and stakeholders to drive safety outcomes.
- A role model for safety, demonstrating behaviours that reinforce a positive and constructive safety culture.
- Confident and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong collaborator with excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrated experience in WHS roles within resources, construction, facilities management, or manufacturing sectors.
- Hold a Lead I-CAM Investigator Certificate and experienced in High-Potential/Serious Incident investigations.
- Skilled in influencing and engaging teams to foster a proactive approach to health, safety, and wellbeing.
