About the Role

As an Aviation Protection Officer, you'll play a vital role in maintaining aviation security while delivering a positive passenger experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting security screening of passengers, baggage and personal belongings
• Monitoring and controlling access to secure airport areas
• Identifying prohibited items, weapons and potential security threats
• Performing physical searches in accordance with aviation security requirements
• Supporting the safe and efficient movement of passengers through screening points
• Providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Following security procedures and making sound decisions under pressure

What We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are professional, reliable, and committed to safety and customer service.

To be successful, you will have:

• Strong customer service skills or a genuine interest in aviation and airport operations
• The ability to communicate confidently with people from diverse backgrounds
• A willingness to complete company-supported training to achieve a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (or already hold the qualification)
• The ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening requirements
• The ability to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) with criminal history checking costs covered by ISS
• A current WA Security Licence (highly desirable)
• A current unrestricted driver's licence and reliable transport
• Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

Already hold a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection?

Industry Recognised Qualification

To work as an Aviation Protection Officer, employees must complete a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection, which provides the specialised knowledge required under current aviation security regulations.

As both an employer and registered training provider, ISS offers comprehensive support throughout your qualification journey.

Training Includes:

• Approximately 25 hours of online learning
• 5 days of paid practical airport-based training
• 40 hours of paid on-the-job training
• Access to webinars, online learning resources and trainer support
